Library Statistics 

The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners collects (on the Annual Report Information Survey, ARIS and Financial Report) and analyzes financial, demographic and personnel data and information on public libraries' staffing and services. The data are compiled each year in a series of reports. Customized statistical reports are also available for libraries and for state and municipal officials.

In addition, the agency staff participate in the Library Statistics Program through the Institute of Musueum and Library Services (IMLS), the State Library Agency Survey and the Academic Library Survey through the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
