State Aid Awards & Certification
Municipalities and their libraries are certified each fiscal year for State Aid to Public Libraries. Certification occurs after compliance with Minimum Standards of Free Public Library Service is verified with the MBLC. Compliance is verified on the annual ARIS and State Aid forms that must be submitted each fiscal year to the MBLC by municipalities and their libraries. After compliance is verified, State Aid payments are distributed to certified municipalities and their libraries.
FY 2017 Certified Municipalities and Awards To Date (pdf)- Updated after each Board meeting at which municipalities are certified (usually in November, December, & January).
FY 2017 Municipal Appropriation Requirement Waiver Recipients - Updated after each Board meeting at which municipalities receive waivers (usually in February).
FY 2017 Communities Not Certified - Updated January 1st, when ineligible municipalities lose certification due to non-compliance with the Minimum Requirements of Free Public Library Service. Updated again after the Board denies waivers of the Municipal Appropriation Requirement.
