Directions: |
FROM NEW BEDFORD WATERFRONT:
Take the ferry "Alert" from Pier 3. In the summer, the
ferry leaves weekdays at 10:00am and weekends at 9:00am -- a trip
of about 1.5 hours. One should call ahead, (508)992-1432, for
reservations and further information. You cannot take a car, but
the "Alert" staff will give directions to a parking
garage. Once at Cuttyhunk, follow the road from the dock to the
first intersection and turn right. Turn left at the crossroads
known as Four Corners. Walk up the hill a short way and the CHS
building is on the corner of the first (and only) street to the
right. As the island is small, this is only a 10 or 15 minute walk.
