The Starter Kit is a handbook that introduces the COSTEP concept \nto emergency managers and stewards of cultural heritage. The Framework \nis a planning tool designed to bring together cultural resource \ninstitutions with emergency management agencies and first responders. It\n provides a blueprint for preparing for area-wide disasters and building\n alliances with federal, state, and local emergency management agencies.<\/em> COSTEP MA was developed using the COSTEP Framework.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This document provides useful information about how emergency management and cultural heritage personnel can collaborate<\/em>\n and learn about how to protect these important resources. Included are \nlinks to training sessions, documents, and other organizations which \nshare the goals of preserving our cultural resources and communities. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
- Protection of Cultural and Historical Resources Annex<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
This formal addition to the state Comprehensive Emergency \nManagement Plan (CEMP) includes cultural resources in existing response \nsystems, providing coordination of federal, state, local, voluntary, and\n private resources to assist, preserve, and protect cultural and \nhistorical institutions and resources before, during, and after natural \nor man-made disasters.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These documents are used by COSTEP MA partners to detail the extent of assistance they might be able to provide in the event of a disaster. This might include facility space, staff, equipment, expertise, or other forms of support.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
COSTEP MA Trainings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
COSTEP MA will periodically offer trainings on a variety of topics \nrelevant to disaster planning, emergency preparedness, and caring for \naffected collections. When trainings are available, information will be \nshared on this page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
