“I’m excited to share that, with support from NEH, we’ll be offering a free webinar for the AFR community about mapping cultural resources.\u00a0

The program will take place on Wednesday, February 19th<\/strong> from 2:00-3:00 pm EST<\/strong> and will feature\u00a0Deidre McCarthy Chief of the Cultural Resource GIS Facility (CRGIS) at the National Park Service and a case study from\u00a0Cliff Landis, Digital Initiatives Librarian at the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library.\u00a0

The webinar will cover:
\u00b7 How do we apply spatial technologies (document, integrate, visualize, share data; compliance with historic preservation laws; inventory creation; mitigation of adverse effects)?
\u00b7 Why are spatial data standards important? What platforms for data collection\/creation should be used to comply with federal, state and local standards? What role do data sharing agreements play?
\u00b7 How can volunteers and private non-profits work with jurisdictions and emergency managers to provide critical information before, during and after a disaster?
\u00b7 How can emerging and changing technologies become tools for disaster response and recovery?
