Library Assistant / Technical Services Specialist - PT - Boston, Accufile, Inc (Boston)

Accufile, Inc., a professional library services firm, is seeking an experienced part-time, Library Assistant to work in the Boston area. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work 20 hours a week. **Experience is a must**

Responsibilities include:

• Library Acquisitions – as requested by Librarian or other designate for attorneys and staff, order titles/books, process paperwork and follow up for all orders
• Invoice processing - approve invoices of titles received and forward to for payment. Handle any publisher invoicing problems that may arise
• Open and process all incoming mail - sort mail by categories such as solicitations, new books received periodicals for routing, etc.
• Log in new materials when received - within firm’s library management software
• Copy cataloguing - within firm’s library management software
• Routing of periodicals and resource summaries - route materials based on an established system for periodicals and summaries of materials to be filed
• Serve as liaison to the Boston law library community and resources
• Manage and oversee book and materials loans, assist in tracking of other loan sources
• Shelve incoming materials - new titles received, replacement volumes, volumes replacing pamphlets, etc…
• Filing/Updating Loose-leaf materials


• MLIS not required, but preferred. Will consider a bachelor’s degree with minimum of two years' Library Assistant experience
• Must be flexible and versatile in work assignments
• Must be comfortable working in a group or independently
