Temporary position starting July 1, 2019 and terminating June 30, 2020 – 14 hours/week Monday-Friday between 9 am and 5 pm, schedule negotiable)


Job Duties:  Under the supervision of the Special Collections Librarian (Printed Materials) this position performs copy cataloging of print material using OCLC and Harvard’s local ILS Alma, specifically but not limited to books and serials for the Harvard Business School Archives.

Other duties may include reviewing and processing donations, cataloging backlogs, data cleanup and enhancement, and importing and updating metadata for HBS working paper collection in ArchivesSpace.

Depending on the applicant’s experience and aptitude, other work could include original cataloging; training would be provided.


Basic qualifications:  College degree, library science student or graduate preferred; accuracy and attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to prioritize work and complete projects within given time constraints, basic computer skills, including Excel, required.

Preferred qualifications: familiarity with RDA, LCSH, LC classification and the MARC 21 format (bibliographic and holdings).
