Digital Project Consultant, George Hail Free Public Library (Warren, RI)

Historic Warren Collections seeks a part-time project consultant to help plan the process of starting a digital museum, including creating a database of artifacts and documents, and producing a variety of themed exhibits. 

Historic Warren Collections is a recently created collaborative project involving several historic agencies in Warren, RI, working to create a sustainable digital museum. The group seeks to identify, preserve, and share items relevant to the rich history of the Town, which was incorporated in 1747. 

Responsibilities: In close communication with the member agencies, and after becoming familiar with their collections, the consultant will develop a five year plan. The plan will include a budget, funding, staffing, training, equipment, policies, procedures, workflow and promotion for a new digital museum. Grant writing by the consultant may also be needed. 

The contract will cover 100 hours of work between August 1st and December 31st, 2021. This job may be done remotely. 

Qualifications

Requirements: Degree from an ALA accredited MLIS  program or equivalent program and two years of archival experience preferred. Experience planning digitization of collections using Omeka and Dublin Core. Successful grant writing experience.
