Head of Bibliographic Services, Winchester Public Library

Seeking an experienced, professional librarian to join our management team.  Responsible for the ordering, acquisition, and classification of all materials added to the collection, overseeing data entry and processing as well as the withdrawal of materials.  Responsible for tracking expenditures and producing fund reports and generating reports strategic to collection development.  Plays a major role in non-fiction collection development and coordinates with other librarians involved in collection development.  Manages a small department of part-time staff and volunteers.  Other duties include at least one shift on the adult Technology and Information Services desk.  Participation in various network committees is required.  The ideal candidate will be forward thinking and familiar with current trends and best practices in public libraries.  The Town of Winchester is an EEO/AAE.


MLS from an ALA accredited institution.  Minimum of three years of professional library experience (post MLS), preferably in a public library.  Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills essential.  Ability to deal with all members of the staff and public in a courteous and tactful manner.  Excellent reference skills for print, non-print, and electronic devices are required.  Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Salary to start: $57,153 - $61,219. Full salary range: $57,153 - $77,877. 35 hrs/wk full benefits.
