Assistant Youth Services Librarian, Palmer Public Library

Plan, implement, and maintain comprehensive programming for children. Organize and lead library programs for preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school-age children. We are looking for a motivated, innovative, extroverted individual to collaborate with librarians and teachers in the schools. This librarian assists with development of collections of children’s material in the youth department, and works shifts at public service desks, helping patrons of all ages as part of a team committed to exceptional patron service.


Knowledge of children’s literature, and an understanding of child development. Excellent computer skills, including the ability to help patrons use the library’s digital resources on a wide variety of electronic devices. Required: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred qualifications: An American Library Association-accredited Master of Library Science degree; at least 1 year of experience working in a public library.

$18.00-20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
