TITLE: Part-time Library Associate 1/Part-time Library Associate 1 MLIS
DEPARTMENT: Library
POSITION STATUS: A part-time SLSA Union permanent position
SALARY: $18.91 per hour regular, $28.37 per hour on Sundays
MLIS $19.96 per hour regular, $29.94 per hour on Sundays
SCHEDULE:
Tuesdays 5:00PM-9:00PM
Every other Saturday 9:00AM-5:00PM
Sunday rotation 1:00-5:00PM
DUTIES:
Provides circulation services to adults and children, including checking library materials in and out, reserving books, and answering telephone inquiries.
Provides reference services including answering inquiries, basic technical assistance, reserving and checking out museum passes, and providing printing, faxing and copying assistance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to communicate orally and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and co-workers.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with patrons, in a busy urban environment.
Ability to arrange materials in alphabetical and numerical order quickly and accurately; ability to check and verify information and to maintain records.
