Overview
The MBLC is offering Summer Software Grants to support library participation in the statewide summer reading program. While these are called "summer" grants, our hope is that libraries will use the software to support year-round library programing.
The MBLC will be working with Beanstack to provide this service. Below are some important details:
- There are a limited number of licenses; therefore libraries with the most need will be prioritized in order to ensure that everyone has access to an online summer program.
- The grants will be for two years (2020 and 2021). You will not need to reapply; but once selected for the grant, if you decide not to use the software, please notify the MBLC so that someone else may use the license.
- Funds will not come to the library, the MBLC has established a statewide contract with Beanstack and will pay them directly on behalf of your library.
- Libraries will work directly with Beanstack to set-up their program and for any technical support.
- Summer Software grants are made possible with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
Requirements
Libraries that receive Summer Software Grant funding are required to do the following:- Complete the MLS Summer Library Program Statistics at the end of the summer.
- Provide the MBLC with a registration link for your online summer program. This is for promotional purposes.
