Each summer, an average of 400,000 children, teens, and adults participate in summer library programming. Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and supported by the Boston Bruins, the MBLC works with the Massachusetts Library System (MLS) to coordinate the statewide summer library program. Massachusetts has been part of the national Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) since 2011.
- All public libraries are eligible to participate.
- ReadsinMA.org and the CSLP are free to all participating libraries, creating connection and collaboration with a larger network of librarians.
- CSLP offers programs for children, teens, and adults, and discounts for materials, tools, and other incentives.
