Directions: |
FROM THE SOUTH AND EAST:
Take I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) West to exit 2 in Lee. Take route
20 North. Route 7 will merge with Route 20 after a few miles in
Lenox, and Route 20 will turn off to the left (West) just prior to
getting into downtown Pittsfield. Stay on Route 7 until you get to
Park Square, where you turn right onto East Street. The Library is
located between the first and second rights (Wendell and Bartlett
Avenues).
FROM THE EAST:
Take route 9 West from the Northampton area which will take you into
downtown Pittsfield. Just before you get to the Berkshire Medical
Center, take left onto First Street (Route 7). At the end of First
Street is East Street and the Berkshire Athenaeum.
FROM THE NORTH:
Take Route 7 south from Adams. As you approach downtown Pittsfield
(with the Berkshire Medical Center ahead on the right) Route 7 will
bear left onto First Street. Stay on Route 7. At the end of First
Street is East Street and the Berkshire Athenaeum.
PARKING:
There is a small lot at the rear of the Athenaeum, and some on street
parking on both Wendell and Bartlett Avenues (closely monitored for
parking violations because of the courthouse close by). There are
metered lots on First Street and on East Street, at the hotel and
on McKay street on the opposite side of Park Square.
