Description

With elements of storytelling, rhythmic footwork and athletic grace, Kuchipudi relays vivid stories from Hindu mythology. Tara gives dance lecture/demonstrations in the vibrant style of Kuchipudi at schools, libraries, museums and cultural organizations. "Taal Tales" offers both a history of classical South Indian dance and performances of lively dance pieces. In this highly interactive program, participants are constantly engaged by watching and participating in dance sequences, and asking and answering questions. Programs are modified according to age level. Tara has taught and lectured extensively in schools, universities, and cultural organizations since 1998, including the Boston Ballet School and the Gardner Museum.
