Description

Educational, imaginative, character-building and interactive concerts, with themes on Inclusion, diversity celebration, self-esteem, kindness, empathy, friendship, love, and concrete ways to "be" peace.

Includes original stories, meaningful books with the "we are different and yet the same" themes, multicultural puppets and original songs with positive messages.

"Friends Forever" is also an album and musical story that can be downloaded from Amazon Music, Apple Music or iTunes. Other interactive albums related to these themes are "Celebrate," "World Peace - The Children's Dream" and "Let's Pretend." All 6 of "Cheryl Melody's" albums are award-winning.

(I have also recently written a three act play for older children called, "Peace Begins with You and Me-A Musical Play with Life-Changing Messages for Every Generation," and it can be purchased on Amazon and IngramSpark.)

The FRIENDS FOREVER program includes the "Friends Forever" and "Small-Tall Mousie" stories, "Whoever You Are," a book written by Mem Fox, and original songs with positive messages: "Only Love," "One Planet," The No Bully Rap," "I'm an Amazing Person Today," "Friends Forever," "Give Them a Chance," "Peace is a Verb" (The "Think About it" song),  and more.

I have 40 years of experience as an "peace through music" educator, motivational speaker, workshop presenter, performing/recording artist and composer.

In addition, as an author, I have written several self-help books for adults: "Heart-Dreamer: Stepping into Life, Love, Creativity and Dreams -  No Matter What" (IngramSpark and Amazon) and "Shift of Heart - Paths to Healing and Love." (Amazon)

In 2020, I presented a virtual "Friends Forever" for the Storrs Library in Longmeadow, MA, Katherine McGonigle, Director of Youth Services. 413-565 4182 x-1631, kmcgonigle@longmeadow.org. It was sponsored by the Moms Club of Longmeadow. I created a YouTube video and marked it "unlisted" so that it would be just for the library for a period of time.

Katie's words: "Your video is FANTASTIC! The children and caregivers who watch this video will enjoy your music and stories and learn a lot about inclusion, kindness and social awareness."

Another recommendation from a live in-school concert: "Thank you, Cheryl Melody! I always reach out to the Unit Leaders for each grade level for feedback after an assembly, and it has been all positive about you!! Your message is so beautiful in its simplicity and honesty. I think that is why it resonates with children so well. Keep up the good work, and I will of course continue to keep you in mind for future events. We need more Cheryl Melodys in this world!!" -A. Givens, PTA President

"Cheryl Melody --you have contagious energy! It was such a delight to watch all the family members participating. Your storytelling ability and expressive speaking voice adds to the delight of the children, reinforcing the connection between music, literature, storytelling, dramatic play and movement. I enjoy the purposeful way you choose certain songs and stories, making sure the words nurture children from inside-out, with messages of self-esteem, inclusion, diversity celebration, manners, sharing, caring and love. I also enjoyed You truly weave magic, and are a musical magician!" - Kathy Hutchins, Children's Librarian

J.V. Public Library; Anne L. Vantran from the Bridgewater Public Library says: "THANK YOU! The parents only had good things to say, and I loved how the children were so engaged. Your work with children is obvious! Professionally, you were very easy to work with, which I appreciate greatly...punctual, enthusiastic and ready for anything! Thank you for making this day stress-free and fun!"
