Program

Outta this World with Art is a complement to the 2009 statewide summer reading theme, Space. Children will listen to the story, Postcards from Outer Space and then choose to complete two projects (out of four offered).

1) Fantasy space collage: using several materials including oil pastels, chalk, tempera paint, toothbrushes and other interesting items

2) Saturn CD project: using recycled CDs, styrofoam balls, paint, glitter and more.

3) Postcards from Space: children will pick their favorite planet and create a postcard for a friend or family member

4) Cosmic bookmarks: using a variety of materials, children will create a one-of-a-kind bookmark.

Authentic astronaut ice cream and a discussion of space will also be provided. Our open-ended, fun projects are simply outta this world.
