Program

This workshop runs for two hours. In the first hour children write their own haiku poem, and in the second hour they create an illustrated card that includes the text of their poem. Students learn about the form and history of the haiku, and about principles of design such as scale, symbolism compared to literal imagery, and other ways to enhance visual communication.
