Angela Easterling is an Americana singer-songwriter based in Greenville, SC who tours frequently to the northeast for concerts. She presents a performance of her own original songs interspersed with selections of classic folk and country tunes. A big part of her performance is to discuss the craft of songwriting and to tell the stories behind her songs and how they came to be. Angela enjoys performing in the special environment that libraries provide and has been wonderfully received in her library programs.
Angela has recently released her second album, "BlackTop Road" in July '09. It was produced by Will Kimbrough, and features such great musicians as Al Perkins, Fats Kaplin, Anne McCue, and Ken Coomer (Wilco). Select tracks are posted on her myspace: www.myspace.com/easterling
and reverbnation www.reverbnation.com/angelaeasterling
The album was in the top 5 for adds to the Americana charts in the first 3 weeks of its release and is currently in the top 40 for Americana radio airplay nationwide. It has been highly praised in the press and was chosen as a top pick in both Oxford American and Country Weekly. Angela was selected for an official Americana Convention Showcase and also named a 2009 Kerrville/Grassy Hill New Folk Finalist, one of the most prestigious national songwriting competitions.
She has been touring extensively and has opened for such artists as Ray Price (Birchmere), Suzy Bogguss (Sellersville Theatre), Lori McKenna (Gray Eagle), Ellis Paul, and Radney Foster; as well as appearing at festivals.
Angela primarily tours solo acoustic, but can also appear as a duo or band depending on your needs. You may contact us to request a CD or check out her website: www.angelaeasterling.com for more info, including press clippings and venues played.
