Baba Yaga, the wicked witch of the forest, appears in many traditional Russian legends and fairy tales. She surrounds herself with magic and spells, and children who encounter her must use all of their cleverness and resources to escape her entrapment. This unique cultural program, designed for children 5 and older, combines dramatic storytelling, traditional Russian music, and the painting of authentic Baba Yaga images on wood. Children will learn the story of Baba Yaga and why the she is such an important figure in Russian folklore. Everyone will leave the workshop with an authentic hand-made piece of Russian folk art on wood.
The cost of the the painting of wooden Baba Yaga is $12 per person which includes all the materials:
