Music for young and old alike.......Music that makes it impossible for one to sit still.......Music whose chestnuts endure as classics....Music that makes you smile....bigtime.
All of these phrases describe DIXIELAND, the music that was born in New Orleans before the turn of the 20th century; floated up the Mississippi on the riverboats and took the country by storm.
David Polansky leads a sextet of New England's finest interpreters of this 'trad jazz' genre and presents concerts that feature the music of Fats Waller, Irving Berlin, Jimmy McHugh, Nick LaRocca, and many others, famous and infamous.
Polansky's concerts receive raves and leave the audience in a VERY good mood. David says, 'I'm lucky to be able to surround myself with the best players in the business. It makes my job very easy.'
