My Musical Baby - newborns to not-yet-crawling
Program Categories
Music, Educational Programs, Puppets
Audience Age
newborn to active crawling phase of development
'Music is inborn. Babies hear and distinguish sounds before birth. Numerous studies indicate that a newborn can identify his mother's voice from other voices around him, and that at birth he already has a preference for the kind of music his mother listened to during pregnancy.'
--Dr. Mark Tramo, Neurobiologist, Harvard Medical School.......
My Musical Baby classes for infants, complete with certified infant massage techniques choreographed to music, musical stimulus and response, and parental musical bonding, are specifically for babies ages newborn to crawling phase, and crawlers to 12 months and their caregivers. In these classes, new (and renewed!) parents will discover the joy that is in store when they expose their new babies to a variety of music. This class is not really for the babies, though! In truth, it is for their parents! The babies certainly will enjoy and benefit from the class in the present and in the short term, but the truth of the matter is that the parents are the medium, the vehicle which will allow their infant child to experience in the long term the rapture and peace that comes from musical bonding, infant massage and listening sessions where nothing is done but to gaze into each other's eyes. The parents gain the knowledge from practical, 'hands-on' exposure to infant massage with their babies during class, and can repeat the techniques as frequently as they would like at home. One of my favorite comments from client parents during My Musical Baby classes is, "I could not believe that not one of those babies fussed even for a minute!" -- must be good parenting! (These results are quite typical, but of course not guaranteed!) Would you like to know more? Come on down and see what all the "fuss" (or lack thereof!) is about! Please bring a blanket for your baby - thank you!

Please ask my client libraries for my performance reviews! (Last did My Musical Baby program at Dedham Public Library and we all had a ball!). Additional rave reviews available upon request from me! Now in my 5th year, in addition to my library performances, I have the privilege of teaching music at over 40 schools on the South Shore of Massachusetts, and own a private studio for children and parents to attend my musical enrichment classes (110 children per week)- I just released my 2nd of 2 Children's CD's (please sample a listen at cdbaby.com/musiclady2), and I am in the process of publishing my 4 children's books! I would LOVE to add your library to my growing family of libraries that I have served with musical enrichment programs. There are 12 in Mass. some have been monthly engagements, and I have had the pleasure of being invited back for return/multiple venues over the years by most! I am a member of the following professional children's music educators' associations: NAEYC, ECMMA, CMN, MENC, MMEA, and AOSA. Thank you for your consideration!
