Greek Myths Alive

Program Categories
Educational Programs, Music, Storytellers

Audience Age
ages 5 up

Description

It's always surprising to see these ancient stories engage even very young listeners. Then again, there's nothing like a three-headed dog (sorry, Harry, you didn't get him first!), trip to the underworld or golden apples from Aphrodite to interest any listener of any age! Includes: Aesop's Fables--The Tortoise & the Hare, The Fox and the Crow; Arachne in story and song; Atalanta (raised by bears, she outran all); Phaeton, and the wonderful myth of the seasons--Demeter & Persephone, enacted in costume and remarkable masks by audience children. Show is adapted for any age-group. Middle schoolers have raved over the more sophisticated minstrel version of Orpheus & Eurydice.
