Audience Age
The Softer Side of Celtic combines the music, stories, and history of Scotland, England, and Ireland in a way that will keep your audience on the edge of their seats. There will be singing, laughing, clapping, and perhaps a wee bit of foot stomping. The concerts are interactive; questions and input from the audience are encouraged and become a part of the event.
You might even see a few tears as your audience hears the story of John Hunt, who came to America in 1855. When he left Ireland, John Hunt was 13 years old. He settled in Aberdeen, Maryland and found a job, got married, and had children. He never returned to Ireland and never saw his family again. The sole communication was the annual family letter that told John what has happened in the last year or so. The collection of letters was discovered in the 1970s and became the foundation for the ballad "Kilkelly Ireland." You can learn more and read the first and last letters at http://www.jeffsnow.net/kilkelly.html
