The Gloucester Hornpipe and Clog Society has performed throughout New England and twice in Ireland in libraries, museums, outdoor maritime celebrations, aboard the U.S.S. Constitution and other historic sailing ships, and at historic houses such as the Paul Revere House, Gore Place and elsewhere. Our concerts are family- or holiday-oriented, for example for St. Patrick's Day, Independence Day, and "Talk Like a Pirate" day. Our maritime music concert has songs and tunes of the sea, and we can perform in maritime garb, including period costumes. We include rollicking sea chanteys, poignant songs of love and loss, and amusing historical and original songs about the serpents of the sea.
$300.
Our fee depends on the number of musicians (3-6), the number of sets, whether in historical costume or not, and whether a sound system is needed. It ranges from $300 to $500. Typically, for libraries this has meant $300-$500 for indoor acoustic concerts

We received an award from the Friends of the Boston Public Library in 2015 for our over 25 annual performances at the Jamaica Plain Branch library. Recently we have performed at the Lunenberg Public Library, the East Boston Public Library, and the Connolly branch library in Jamaica Plain Boston. For East Boston we wrote two seafaring songs, one based on an Emily Dickinson poem about paintings of sailing ships in her Amherst Public library, the other about a little-known woman tall ship navigator, to honor the unveiling and hanging of a restored library painting of a famous sailing ship.
