Learn to make soap the old fashioned way! This program allows participants to craft their own soap with a variety of molds and natural additions such as hibiscus flowers, jojoba, lavender, vanilla beans, the sky is the limit!
This program is tailored to your library audience. For younger children can use a melt and pour soap, and older teens can watch a demonstration of the chemical reaction between lye and lipids.
This fits nicely with Laura Ingalls Wilder's 'Little House' books, and some libraries use it as the finale to a story time featuring one to give patrons a real life experience.
This program is suitable for the 2023 summer reading theme All Together Now on Kindness, Friendship, and Unity.

The base fee allows for 40 patrons to make their own bar of soap. If you expect more, you may add them at $6 per person. It is helpful to have an estimate prior to the program so I bring enough supplies.
