Description

I field tested this program many times and was blown away by its sweetness--and especially, that even really young readers or preschoolers with their grown-ups loved it and did it proudly! Here’s how it worked: I brought all the supplies--pine cones, glitter, etc., & the story of a poor woman whose children are cold and hungry & are helped by a magical forest elf. I modeled how to make the silver pine cone & tell the tale. Some children practiced reading or telling the tale, (I provide tips on how to tell a tale, including the intro, how to stand and bow) then with no fuss at, the kids took turns entertaining us--with the surprise ending--TA-DA! of the glittering cone! So they have a story AND the pretty decoration or ornament to take home--or give as a present. Now with silver that doesn't drop glitter--YAY!!

Perfect for winter or the holidays--even Valentine’s Day (red glitter & ribbons!) Lewis Carroll called stories “love gifts.” Free posters & p.r.

Fee
$395.

Facility Requirements

Tables for pinecones, ribbon, glitter glue (supplied, but if you can add to this, great), scissors, paper plates to work on. If you want to cover tables, go for it! It worked great when people stood at the tables to make the craft, and we need a space to gather on the floor as an audience, so the kids can tell the story (if they want to) to the group, after.

Many elements to bring happiness, literacy, craft, a take-home, family and community support of young speakers. Fun and perfect in the winter for holidays and February (red ribbons!). Add cocoa and marshmallows if desired.
