Description

Having a book published in today's tough market can seem like an impossible dream. But, in reality, getting your book idea into shape and into print can hinge on just the right advice from a pro. Do you need an agent? Should you connect with an editor, cover artist or designer? What about e-books and self-publishing? Nationally-known author Peter Mandel will pass on the insider's tips aspiring authors need to know in order to create a marketable first book and get it into the hands of exactly the right gatekeepers in the publishing world.

Mandel is the author of eleven children's, humor, and animal-focused titles published by Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Henry Holt, Penguin, and others. A journalist for The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The Boston Globe, his books have been translated into Japanese, German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish and Danish and have been part of exhibits at the Smithsonian and the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
