Program

In 2014, Windborne was one of 10 groups selected by American Music Abroad and the US Department of State to tour Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Angola as cultural ambassadors through music. We performed with internationally known artists, and collaborated with traditional musicians in each country, as well as giving workshops to kids. In this event, we share stories from out trips, some of the songs we sang, and others that we learned from our friends from around the world. If equipment is available, we can show photos of the trip as well. Good for kids and adults, this is a musical trip of cross-cultural understanding that showcases the power of music to reach across divisions, and is sure to bring smiles and questions!
