Kamishibai (paper theater) is a traditional form of Japanese street theater and storytelling where author illustrator Yumi Izuyama uses her original artwork to tell folktales from arouond the world, bringing them to life for families with young children. These two stories highlight S. African and Brazilian tales about human genorosity and kindness and also teach lessons about human roles in helping solve environmental problems common to communities around the globe. These stories are told as 1, 2 or up to 4 zoom sessions, (each under 45 minutes) and come with STEM hands on Zoom pdf for interactive fun.
The program includes LarkLearning STEM activities after the performance to enhance the engagement of the children, reinforce concepts learned in folktales about the habitat theme, and show how these stories can relate to them and their own families and community.
$300.
Fee includes 2 Kamishibai Stories and STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) Art activities to take home. These can be scheduled a week, month or season apart. $300 minimum.
