Learn how to grow silk worms in a sustainable manner, and to spin real silk cocoons into thread. The cultural heritage of silk, the trade routes, and unique properties of the fabric will be discussed. Products made from silk will be covered, as well as host plant propogation and larval care practices.
This program is suitable for the 2023 summer reading theme All Together Now on Kindness, Friendship, and Unity.

This program is charged at $6.00 per person. witn a 10 participant minimum, no maximum. Silk coccons and a drop spindle are made and brought home during class.
