Post-Performance Workshop - Spoken Word Alive!

Program Categories
Educational Programs, Mime, Storytellers, Theater Programs

Audience Age
K-12 (K-2 or 3-12, workshop is tailored to group)

Description

Leeny’s creative dramatics workshop allows students to learn new skills (to enhance articulation, projection, vocal variety, and gestures), share in the joy of performing, and participate in confidence-building exercises. Students perform a group (ensemble) tale using four volunteers at a time for the speaking parts, while the remainder of the class creates sound effects and scenery. Ensemble acting develops students’ self-esteem, cooperation, respect for each other, and individual ability. A smaller group setting accentuates the academic relevancy of language arts and storytelling, creative dramatics, mime, movement and improvisation.
