Description

Participants will experience firsthand what it is like to work a professional-quality marionette which has been balanced and tuned like a fine instrument. Students will begin with simply manipulation, such as turning the puppet’s head or raising its hand, and then progress to compound movements, such as sitting or walking. Master puppeteers will demonstrate some of the tips and tricks they have learned in over thirty years of experience in the field of puppetry.

Facility Requirements

Workshop Space:

A cleared, classroom-sized space (approximately 25’ x 25’), large enough to accommodate up to 25 participants working marionettes at floor-level.  The workshop space MAY be on upper or basement levels.

Time needed to pack up: 15 minutes
