Barbara is a national award-winning leader in children's nutrition,  delivering a fun-filled, interactive food and nutrition education presentation, complete with juggling, music, magic, and audience participation, to help kids and families see through media messages in order to take charge of growing up healthy, happy, and fit!

Barbara is a children's book author and media creator, playwrite, and Founder and Executive Director of FoodPlay Productions, an Emmy Award-winning nutrition education theater company that has reached over five million children across the country with her live theater shows, videos, children's books, TV specials and interactive resources.

Barbara is a Registered Dietitian who has combined her undergraduate degree in Journalism, Masters in Nutrition, and extensive Theater Arts Training, to create and write several nutrition theater show productions, video kits, children’s books, curricula, hands-on tools, and TV specials to help kids and families make healthy choices to last a healthy lifetime!

Barbara has been honored with over 10 national nutrition and media awards including “Distinguished Alumni Award” from Columbia University Teacher’s College. She is a popular speaker and media spokesperson and has presented programs to thousands of schools and has appeared on TV, radio, and in the press throughout the country. Her mission is to use the power of live theater and innovative media to help engage, empower, and inspire children and families to make choices that are good for their health and the health of the planet!

Programs include presentation, Q+A, and a host of hands-on activity sheets, recipe cards, and handouts to extend the learning throughout the year!
