Description

Entire audiences are captivated by Salsa rhythm patterns that have roots in the Caribbean Region. They partner with the artists to enjoy playing the patterns. Together, they launch legendary and contemporary Latin songs with Spanish and English lyrics, energetic beats, dance-inspiring rhythms, and catchy melodies.

Everyone gets their hands onto Latin-style musical instruments that are brought by the artists for the activity. They learn how to create the engaging, musical sounds of:
Conga, bongo, tambora, and plenera drums; maracas; guiros; and claves.

No prior musical experience is required.

Bob and Arnaldo Rivera, a native of Puerto Rico, lead the participants with spoken guideposts that they mirror on the instruments to create the Salsa rhythm patterns.

Arnaldo provides the melodies and harmonies of the songs on his electric piano. Bob and he sing, and teach the lyrics, to everyone.

To the participants, the joyous elements of music-making give rise to socialization.

Bob and Arnaldo are members of a 15-piece, Latin music band, “Arnaldo Rivera y Bentetu”. We perform for concerts, recreation and parks events, community centers, and festivals.
