Over 40 really connects with this. Seniors love it!
Popular long time New England radio and TV personality Mike Morin delivers a multi-media presentation on radio's golden age, including contemporary local radio hosts. From 1920 to today, original audio clips include Lucille Ball, Milton Berle, Jack Benny, Groucho Marx and many others. The show highlights women performers and early African American hosts, many of whom had very little exposure outside of the Black community. Also experience War of the Worlds and FDR's Fireside Chats. Radio is the original social medium. Hear untold stories about Kate Smith being cancelled in today's culture as well as one top DJ being evicted from the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. Also, an unexpectedly touching and funny interview by Morin with a sitting president the day before the election. It went viral. Following the engaging presentation, Morin invited questions and discussion on radio both then and today. This is perfect for lovers of nostalgia. Since audio is critical to my show, I bring a Bose sound system and supply my own microphone.
REQUIREMENT: venue must have a slide projector able to interface with an Apple Mac Book Pro laptop (most do). I bring a multitude of connectors for differing set ups. Really old protectors could be iffy. A projector screen is needed as well.
