American Songbook with Pops and Sarah Gardner

Description

"Pops" (Herb Gardner) plays Teddy Wilson/Fats Waller style stride piano while daughter Sarah sings crowd pleasing from the American Songbook. Herb came to NYC in the early 60s and played with jazz greats Henry Red Allen, Eddie Condon, and many others. He brings backstage stories from those times and a little extra unpublished jazz history to every show.  The duo is often rounded out by Clarinetist Dr. John Clark, founder of the Wolverines Jazz Band. This charming group has a lovely quit witted energy which enchants audiences and creates a living room/old-time-parlor vibe.
