At Code in Class (CiC), we believe that every student deserves and needs access to computer science skills, and that the soft skills engendered through the learning process, such as communication and teamwork, are just as important as the hard skills of coding a specific language.
The company was founded by a team of former elementary school teachers and educational entrepreneurs who recognized a need for a coding education solution that was fun for students and easy for teachers. Code in Class uses story-infused animated videos and engaging, hands-on activities to deliver computer science and coding curriculum to elementary-aged students. We equip any educator to teach with less that 10 minutes of prep time or less.

Our easy-to-navigate online website offers four main resources for educators to access our content and prepare to teach.
1. Student Facing Videos are animated videos used to teach students the content for the day and review the activities that the educator will facilitate
2. Teacher Facing Videos are videos that prepare educators to teach by explaining each lesson’s purpose and components
3. Short Forms are the equivalent of “Cliff Notes” summaries that complement our Student Facing Videos and offer a quick, easy-to-follow roadmap to teach
4. Long Forms are more detailed Short Forms, akin to a traditional lesson plan, which contains more detail and some scripting. Educators using this form can teach the lesson with or without Student Facing Videos
