Since 2016, Fiddle N’ Fun has provided age-appropriate, highly-interactive music education workshops to many different preschools, childcare centers, and children’s library programs in the southern New England area. With age-appropriate thematic material, Fiddle N’ Fun’s performances have been a recurring family favorite at numerous libraries, as part of their respective summer reading programs for both children and teens. Even at the height of the pandemic, Fiddle N’ Fun’s virtual programs were widely promoted by several libraries in Rhode Island; eventually, at-home audiences who viewed Fiddle N’ Fun were able to return to their local library for in-person shows.
With a curriculum founded in Suzuki methodology, and blended with a unique design of my personal music experiences, each 30-45 minute workshop consists of the following:
listening to the violin/fiddle
singing/humming along to familiar songs, as well as original material
using egg shakers for keeping a beat
dancing, marching, and guided movements
parachute activities with music
learning rhythm patterns and reinforcing gross motor skills with Boomwhackers and other small percussion instruments
Fiddlestix routines, involving a real “bow” and a single-stringed instrument, designed for young children
$160.
