Program Categories
Educational Programs, Historical Programs and Characters, Museums, Technology
Audience Age
For climate-concerned audiences age 16 and above.
Ten award-winning short films from four continents explore our complicated feelings about climate change and the possibility of our inspired response to it.
Rhode Island Premiere is October 26-27, 2023
Libraries in Massachusetts can bring the Festival to their communities beginning November 2023. A follow-up Climate Feeling & Action Workshop, online, is available for additional sharing and processing of the Festival experience.
The Festival is produced by 25 volunteers and the staff of Merlyn Climate Grants, a Rhode Island 501(c)3 that funds and supports climate leaders ages 13 to 30 in New England and New York.
Bill McKibben, America's leading voice on climate, founder of Third Act and co-founder of 350.org, serves as Honorary Judge. He will introduce the program on screen. Film committee volunteers include artists, book lovers, academics, teachers, writers, therapists, filmmakers, business leaders, and climate activists.
Drama, documentary, dark comedy, satire, and award-winning animation expose a range of interior responses to a possibly grim future --- cynicism and optimism, climate denial and grief, rage and heartbreak, resilience and resolve.
If Your Patrons are Climate Concerned . . .
Bring the Festival and Discussion to you---your library, arts center, synagogue, church, YMCA, JCC, campus, academic department, or museum. It's FREE when attendance is free to the public.
