Author Daniel A. Gagnon discusses his acclaimed biography, A Salem Witch: The Trial, Execution, and Exoneration of Rebecca Nurse.
The 1692 Salem Witch Trials is a fascinating event in American history and culture. Through a PowerPoint presentation, Gagnon reveals the life of 71-year old Rebecca Nurse who was executed for witchcraft in 1692, along with discussing how the witch-hunt first began in Salem Village, some misconceptions about the events, and how years later Rebecca Nurse was the first victim of the witch-hunt to have a memorial dedicated to her.
Questions at the end are encouraged, and audience members frequently have many questions about the events of 1692.
