Based on the Maria von Trapps' book, "The Story of the Trapp Famly Singers," I have written and perform a script on the real-live Trapp Family, whose path to becoming legendary in a Broadway play and then movie, was inspired by their love of music and love of God. Can you imagine leaving behind your dream of becoming a nun, then becoming a step-mother of SEVEN children, (and having three more during the rise of Hitler's Germany); fleeing the evil regime and travelling to a foreign country (whose language you did not know), learning new customs, and conquering the hearts of innmerable lovers on the musical stages in the US, becoming the most popular act nation-wide? I'm breathless, just thinking about it--and you will become breathless, too as you hear their story of courage and determination in the face of many obstacles.
