Musicians' Workshop
Open to all instruments, including fiddle, guitar, accordion, piano, flute, and more. Musicians must have at least basic level proficiency on their instruments.
Learn one or two of the incredibly fun tunes from the French bal folk tradition. The tunes tend to be pretty simple, which leaves lots of room for exploring harmonies, backup grooves, and arrangements. By the end, the room will be a party of great ensemble playing, with both less experienced and more experienced musicians jamming out on parts that are satisfying for each of their individual levels.
Rachel Bell is a nationally touring musician, and her tune teaching is informed by her many years of experience earlier in life as a public school music teacher and, later, a frequent artist-in-residence. Her primary goal is to cultivate a safe and supportive learning environment to pave the way for the great joy of playing music together!
$250.
Fee is a sliding scale ranging from $200-$600 depending on details of the workshop and how far the library is from Rachel Bell's home base of Brattleboro, VT. If the budget is on the larger side, there could be a series of workshops.
