Program

Two Dream Tale Puppets artists lead a workshop on building simple, miniature toy theaters and puppets. Children decorate a theater portal using a variety of textured materials, create a backdrop by drawing their own scenery, and make their own puppets. All materials—including pre-cut cardboard stages—are provided. The program is designed for children aged 4 and up, along with their caregivers, and typically follows a drop-in format. This allows each participant to take as much time as needed and receive individualized assistance from the instructors. The workshop offers a high-quality creative experience, introduces participants to the richness of puppetry arts, and models an activity that can inspire family playtime at home. Participants can explore visual, technical, kinetic, spatial, narrative, and other elements of puppetry through a simple yet engaging hands-on project in a supportive environment. The program lasts three hours. A small display of puppets from Dream Tale Puppets productions provides inspiration and highlights additional aspects of the art form.
