Description

Sumner McClain tells stories from the Afro-American tradition, as well as those taken from literature. His stories celebrate the human spirit. 'Daddy King' his original story of Martin Luther King as seen through the eyes of his father, has won much acclaim and is heavily booked each year. Stories that touch on the theme of appreciating differences are also much sought after. Sumner is sometimes accompanied by his wife Linda. They both offer music within the storytelling context-harmonica as well as vocal. Linda also incorporates puppets within the telling for children. Stories are always age appropriate.
