Program

In my book talk, The Writing Life, my aim is to encourage reading and to excite students to exercise their own voices as writers. I share with students what led me to be a writer and how my books were born, and I provide ample opportunity for discussion, especially of favorite books and favorite places to read. I take students through the writing process - from idea to finished book - and end with a writing exercise, either individual or group, depending on the level of the students. A slide presentation accompanies the talk.
