NEW ENGLAND BIRDS OF PREY

Program Category
Animal Programs

Audience Age
RECOMMENDED FOR Ages 5 & up.

Description

Birds of prey are also known as raptors, and hawks, falcons, owls  are included in the group. This program concentrates on our native raptor species, incorporating 5-6 LIVE birds of prey from the different raptor categories. Using a wealth of specially-designed visual aids, the Wingmasters presenters provide an overview of North American birds of prey. We bring with us raptors that can be found in your specific area and explain the characteristics of the different raptor groups. (How can you tell a hawk from a falcon? What's the big raptor you see perched by the side of the road? This presentation will tell you.) Because many birds of prey are declining in number, this presentation also features one or more of the endangered raptors we care for. The program explains why these species face an uncertain future.
