Description

Sojourns is a Humanities program designed to bring the lives of outstanding African American women to schools and general audiences. Included in the performance series are Phillis Wheatley, Frances E.W. Harper,Ida Wells Barnett, Mary McLeod, Zora Neale Hurston, and Gwendolyn Brooks. Performances are followed by a question and answer period.

$500. Plus travel expenses

No special requirements, only a small performance area.

Dorothy Mains Prince is the founder of Sojourns LLC. She holds BA and MA degrees from Emerson College in Boston and a MA from Teachers College, Columbia Univ. in N.Y. Prince began her study and performance of the women in the series as a Chautauqua Scholar for the various Humanities Councils around the country.
