Program

North Winds' program is a great way to introduce a young audience to the individual woodwind instruments. Join five of New England's best wind instrumentalist as they perform an engagin mix of pieces from several countries and historical periods. During the program, the musicians highlight the function of each instrument, demonstrate how each instrument produces sound and how it evolved and explore some of the concepts of composition such as melody, accompaniment and style. The program concludes with a piece that call on audience volunteers to perform with the quintet in a rendition of "Rags" by the legendary Scott Joplin.
