Assistant Director, Bedford Free Public Library (Bedford)
Due to a retirement, the Bedford Free Public Library seeks an energetic, detail-oriented Assistant Director to join its new Director. Responsibilities include but are not limited to project management, programming, community outreach, and collection development, as well as administrative tasks such as the drafting and implementation of policies and procedures and the management of daily library operations. Attends monthly Trustees meetings and Friends meetings as needed. As always, other duties as assigned.
Candidates should be exceptionally organized, have excellent written and oral communication skills in English (other language skills desirable), and be able to effectively manage their time, competing priorities, and varying personalities. Strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to public service are a must.
Schedule is typically 9-5 though it may include some evenings and Saturdays.
Start date will be no sooner than July 1.
Qualifications
MLIS degree and a minimum of 5 years full-time experience in a public library required; high level of proficiency with Excel a plus; familiarity with Sierra ILS helpful.
